BUSY SIGNAL UPDATE

Industry players, fans and reggae lovers across the world are reacting to Busy Signal’s unfortunate arrest last week.

Busy Signal was arrested shortly after disembarking a plane that arrived from Europe. It is said that US authorities have been behind Busy Signal for over 10 years, who has avoided them by using a fake name. The artist has been arrested for drug related charges. The entertainer, who appeared in last week wearing full black, waived his right to an extradition hearing to go to the US to be tried for absconding bail.

Penthouse Records CEO, Donovan Germain, said that the artist deserves a second chance.

“It’s unfortunate what has transpired with Busy Signal but if it’s one artiste that deserves a second chance, it’s Busy Signal”

Since the arrest, Busy has also lost several endorsement deals. He has been dropped by Ray & Nephew brand. He is also the spokesperson for Pepsi in Jamaica, however no action on that endorsement has been taken yet by the corporation.

Busy is the third Jamaican reggae entertainer to be arrested recently for drug related activities in the US. Renowned reggae entertainers Denroy Morgan and Buju Banton were also held by US authorities.
